Rep. Jesús “Chuy” García and several other Latinx elected officials unanimously endorse Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx

Chicago - Multiple Latinx leaders from across Cook County have rallied to support State’s Attorney Kim Foxx so that she can continue her bold criminal justice reform. This large endorsement is a testament to the hard work State’s Attorney Kim Foxx has done to bring greater justice equality to communities of color. Those who have endorsed Foxx include: U.S. Rep. Jesús “Chuy” García, Sen. Celina Villanueva, Rep. Delia Ramirez, Rep. Edgar Gonzalez, Commissioner Alma E. Anaya, Ald. Michael Rodriguez and Ald. Daniel LaSpata.

“The rest of the country is looking at Cook County for leadership on true criminal justice reform and that’s because of the hard work of State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. When others thought justice reform and community safety couldn’t happen, she proved them wrong reducing crime while implementing bold reform. We need her in office to finish the innovative work she’s only just started,” said U.S. Rep. Jesús “Chuy” García.

“I am honored and privileged to have the support of these fearless community leaders,” said State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. “There is a false narrative that we have to choose between public safety and justice reform. We do not. Having the support of these leaders demonstrates their belief in my work and the work we will continue to do to support our communities.”

For too long the criminal justice system has caused a negative trajectory for communities of color. State’s Attorney Kim Foxx has begun to change that trajectory. She not only sees the issues but she takes proactive action to address them. She has defended those same communities that have been under attack by a White House administration that judges people solely by the color of their skin.

This endorsement only adds to a growing list of support that State’s Attorney Kim Foxx has already received. The Friends for Foxx campaign continues to grow the momentum towards the March 17 primary.
